Major Renovations in Fargo-Moorhead
Whole-home transformations that require real planning and real skill. We coordinate every trade and phase so your project finishes on time and on budget.
Large Projects. Managed Well.
Major renovations are complex. They involve multiple rooms, multiple trades, and require careful sequencing to avoid costly mistakes. The difference between a project that finishes well and one that drags on for months usually comes down to the contractor managing it.
Allied Build & Remodel has managed large-scale renovation projects across the Fargo-Moorhead area for over a decade. We take on whole-home transformations, multi-phase projects, and gut remodels and manage them from planning through final walkthrough with one team and one point of contact.
Project Planning & Scoping
We start with a detailed walkthrough, scope of work, and written estimate before a single thing gets torn out. For large projects, a clear plan upfront prevents expensive changes mid-stream.
Structural & Framing Work
Load-bearing wall removal, beam installation, floor system repairs, and layout reconfigurations. We work with structural engineers when required and pull the appropriate permits so the work is done correctly and documented.
Kitchen & Bath Renovation
Full kitchen and bathroom gut remodels as part of a larger whole-home project. Plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinets, and finishes, all coordinated as part of the overall project timeline.
Flooring & Interior Finishes
New flooring throughout the home, fresh drywall and paint, interior trim and millwork, doors and windows: the finishes that tie a whole-home renovation together and make it feel complete.
Trade Coordination
Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC: we coordinate licensed trade contractors as part of the project and keep them on schedule. You have one contractor managing the whole job, not three or four contractors calling you independently.
Final Walkthrough & Punch List
We do a thorough final walkthrough before we consider the job done. Any punch list items get addressed before we close out the project. The work isn’t finished until you’re satisfied with the result.
& Much More
Exterior work, additions tied to an interior renovation, multi-phase projects spread over time. If your project is large and complex, that’s exactly what we’re built for.

What qualifies as a "major renovation"?
Generally, a major renovation involves multiple rooms or trades, significant structural or layout changes, or a complete gut and rebuild of a large portion of the home. If your project involves a kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, structural work, and painting all at once, that’s a major renovation. We’ll talk through your project during your estimate and scope it accurately.
How long does a major renovation take?
It depends on the scope. A large multi-room remodel typically runs 8 to 16 weeks. A true whole-home gut renovation can take longer. We build a detailed project schedule before work begins and stick to it. You’ll know the timeline before we start and get regular updates throughout.
Can I live in my home during a major renovation?
It depends on the scope and phasing of the project. For some major renovations, you can stay in part of the home while work is contained to other areas. For a full gut renovation, temporary relocation is often the better option. We’ll discuss this honestly during the planning phase so you can make an informed decision.
How do you manage multiple trades on a large project?
We stay involved throughout every major project and manages the sequencing of work across all trades. Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC contractors are scheduled in the right order so trades don’t conflict and the project doesn’t stall waiting on one subcontractor. You have one number to call regardless of what phase the project is in.
